    2005 FOOD DRIVE

Every year, the employees at the Texas A&M  Center at Overton participate in a food drive to collect canned goods and other non-perishable food items.   This drive benefits the Good Samaritan, a local charitable organization, that then distributes the food to needy families in our local area.

In the spirit of friendly competition, employees are assigned to teams.  Each team tries to out-do it's competitors by collecting the most food items.  The food is weighed and tallied by team, and the team that brought the most food is declared the "winner".

This year was successful beyond our expectations, with total food donations weighing in at 1439 pounds!!!  This surpassed last year's total by 46%.  We are proud of our employees for their generosity in helping their fellow neighbors!  A big thanks, too, to Joel Kerby's 4H group for contributing canned goods to our food drive!
