Dr. Masabni and Clint Kripki (Emeralds Aquaponics) are hosting this construction workshop to teach aquaponics enthusiasts, volunteers, and current and potential producers how to build and maintain an aquaponics system.

Lecture topics include: aquaponics construction, filtration, and system start up and operation.  The workshop will include classroom presentations with slides and videos on system construction; discussion on fish selection, plants to grow; daily maintenance activities; potential yields; commercial applications and greenhouses/high tunnels.

Then we will proceed to the greenhouse to study the systems already built and we will demonstrate how to build a filter system.

Handouts such as what type of fish and sources, what type of foam pads and sources, what type of analytical equipment best to use for pH, EC, and nitrate levels, and a material list and pricing will be included with the workshop.
